Dependence on impersonal communication methods

Topic of this content: How reliance on impersonal communication methods contributes to poor communication in organizational context
Who might be interested in reading: professionals and organizations
In this third text this month, we will address the excessive dependence on impersonal means or methods of communication, one of the factors that can contribute to poor communication in an organizational context.
Reliance on impersonal communication methods means excessive use of emails, memos or digital messages which, without personal interaction, can lead to a lack of personal connection and misunderstandings.
One of the consequences could be poor decision making, because without clear and accurate information, decision makers can make errors in judgment that affect the strategic direction and financial health of an organization.
"The internet and online communication are the window into your world – but real life, in person communication / connection is the door." – Rasheed Ogunlaru
A possible solution involves implementing clear communication channels, that is, establishing - and maintaining - clear and open communication channels throughout the organization. To this end, a combination of platforms (emails, intranets, team meetings, one-on-one conversations) is beneficial, in order to ensure that messages are received and understood by everyone.
Still, it is necessary to pay attention to possible information overload, considering the high volume of information that employees receive, something that can be overwhelming, causing important messages to be ignored or lost.
Effective communication makes employees feel
valued, informed and part of the team, which increases morale, job satisfaction
and loyalty.
Author's note: this text expresses a personal perspective framed within some parameters, it is not a scientific article, of a medical, prescriptive or binding nature. It is also important to note that it was not intended to be an exhaustive analysis, in the future there will be new texts that will address other ways of looking at these same topics.
